A review of the Lepidostomatidae of Borneo is provided with descriptions and illustrations of 19 species, including 14 new species: Dinarthrum bidentatum, D. kellyi, D. tridentatum, Lepidostoma bisculum, L. corollatum, L. cratis, L. curtipendulum, L. erectum, L. octolobium, L. oreion, L. pendulum, L. quaternarium, L. tenellum, and L. uncinatum. The genus Amphoropsyche Holzenthal, 1985, included — besides a larger number of species from South America — only one Antillean species, from Dominica. A second Antillean species, A. janstockiana n. sp., is now described (male) from Saint Vincent. These two are sister species. Moreover, the female of an Amphoropsyche is described from Mustique; it probably belongs to A. janstockiana n. sp.

During one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (henceforth PROFAUPAR), 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera were collected with light trap. The individuais of the family Hydropsychidae were identified and a list of species is presented. Eighteen species in four genera were identified. From this, S. (R.) discalis Flint, 1972,5. From 126,340 adult specimens of Trichoptera captured with light trap during one year of the project called "Survey of the Entomological Fauna in Paraná State" (Paraná, Brazil), 6,375 belong to the family Leptoceridae. The individuals of the family were identified and a list of species is presented. The following species are recorded for the first time to Paraná State: Achoropsyche duodecimpunctata (Navas. 1916); Nectopsyche aureovittala Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche fuscomaculata Flint, 1983; Nectopsyche muhni (Navas, 1916); Nectopsyche separata (Banks, 1920); Nectopsyche ortizi Holzenthal, 1995; Nectopsyche splendida (Navas, 1917) and Tripleclides gracilis (Burmeister, 1839). Discussion on individual abundance and species seasonality are also presented.

A new species of the genus Apanteles Foerster, 1862 (subgenus Choeras Mason, 1981) from The Netherlands is described and illustrated. The new species is reported to be a parasitoid of larvae of terrestrial Trichoptera (Limnophilidae), which is the first report of this order as host of Braconidae. Se describen por primera vez las larvas del último estadio y las pupas de Protoptila dubitans Mosely, 1939 y de P. misionensis Flint, 1972; y se las compara con otras especies descriptas. Los caracteres diagnósticos de las larvas de estas especies son: la coloración de los escleritos, áreas de pelos del pro-, meso- y metanoto; forma y tamaño de los escleritos del meso- y metanoto, y distribución de pelos en los uritos. Los caracteres estudiados en las pupas son: quetotaxia del labro, mandíbulas, y ganchitos de los uroterguitos.

Os Trichoptera compreendem a maior ordem de insetos estritamente aquáticos e constituem a maior proporção da comunidade dos macroinvertebrados bentônicos. Há 13.000 espécies descritas no mundo, cerca de 2.500 espécies na Região Neotropical e 479 ocorrentes no Brasil. A fauna brasileira de Trichoptera inclui membros de 16 famílias (Anomalopsychidae, Atriplectididae, Calamoceratidae, Ecnomidae, Glossosomatidae, Helicopsychidae, Hydrobiosidae, Hydropsychidae, Hydroptilidae, Leptoceridae, Limnephilidae, Odontoceridae, Philopotamidae, Polycentropodidae, Sericostomatidae e Xiphocentronidae). No Estado de São Paulo, há 126 espécies catalogadas em 15 famílias, sem registros apenas para Limnephilidae.

We present here a list of Trichoptera species recorded in the literature from Brazil as of September 2003. The total number of species recorded for Brazil is 378. The most diverse family is Hydropsychidae with 103 species; the second most diverse is Hydroptilidae with 50 species, followed by Leptoceridae and Philopotamidae with 41 each. Distributions by state and additional literature relevant to Brazilian Trichoptera are also presented.

Se describen las larvas y las pupas de Microchorema extensum Schmid y Neochorema sinuatum Schmid y larvas no identificadas, denominadas provisoriamente Genus X y Genus Y. La larva de M. extensum se caracteriza por: fémur I alargado con proyección ventro-distal delgada, tibia y tarso I parcialmente fusionados entre sí; prosterno con una placa cuadrangular central y dos alargadas laterales. Ecologia de comunidades das larvas de Trichoptera Kirby (Insecta) em dois córregos de primeira ordem da Serra dos Pireneus, Pirenópolis, Goiás, Brasil

The Trichoptera fauna in two first-order streams of Serra dos Pireneus. Goiás State, was studied from June/1993 to July/1994. The Trichoptera larvae abundances were lower in the rainy season in the two streams. The temporal distributions of the functional groups (feeding categories) was similar in both streams. The ordination by Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA) detected a higher temporal heterogeneity of the Trichoptera community in one of the sampling stations, probably associated with higher discharge variation. There is a large variation of abundance of some genera between the two studied streams.

Ondanks de fors toegenomen aandacht voor watermacrofauna sinds begin jaren 1980 is de schietmot Molanna albicans maar sporadisch aangetroffen. In dit artikel wordt de eerste larvenvondst van M. albicans buiten Drenthe beschreven. Samen met de vindplaatsen in Drenthe is de soort nu van vijf vennen in Nederland bekend. De larven van Trichoptera heten kokerjuffers en leven in het water. Veel soorten bouwen een kokertje van zand, takjes of ander materiaal, vandaar de Nederlandse naam. De volwassen dieren lijken wel wat op nachtvlinders en worden schietmotten genoemd. De laatste jaren heeft het onderzoek naar deze dieren een grote vlucht genomen. Enerzijds spelen ze een rol als indicator voor de waterkwaliteit. De larven worden dan ook veel verzameld tijdens macrofaunabemonsteringen door waterschappen. Anderzijds is er een groeiende groep entomologen die schietmotten bestudeert. In dit artikel wordt Ecclisopteryx dalecarlica voorgesteld, een nieuwe soort voor Nederland.

RESUMEN. Smicridea McLachlan (Trichoptera: Hydropsychidae) es el único género de Smicrideinae que se ha encontrado en la región Neotropical. Estado de conocimiento de los Trichoptera de Chile

Se presenta una visión actualizada del conocimiento de Trichoptera de Chile; dicha fauna de insectos, caracterizada por un alto grado de endemismo, está representada actualmente por 18 familias, 32 géneros y 214 especies. Hydrobiosidae se destaca por ser la familia con mayor diversidad: 20 géneros y 47 especies y por tener el mayor porcentaje de elementos endémicos, pero Limnephilidae por su abundancia y por el gran tamaño de los representantes de sus 27 especies, resulta ser el constituyente más característico de los cursos de agua de los bosques de fagáceas subantárticos de la Patagonia. Five new species of Smicridea McLachlan (Trichoptera, Hydropsychidae) from Brazil

Five new species of Smicridea McLachlan, 1971, are described and illustrated for specimens collected during entomological inventories in the states of Espírito Santo, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Paraná (Brazil). Four of these new species belong to the subgenus Rhyacophylax Müller, 1879: S. (R.) froehlichi, S. (R.) jundiai, S. (R.) mangaratiba, S. (R.) ralphi, and one to the subgenus Smicridea McLachlan, 1871: S. (S.) mirnae.
